Wenfei Jia

Wenfei Jia is a scenographer, production designer, and stage manager with professional experience in China, the US, and Europe. Her work focuses on reevaluating societal phenomena from a personal lens, using theatre and film as communicative mediums. By designing theatre productions and sets, she scrutinizes spaces as freedom-enabling, imaginative realms.

    Description:
    Reinventing Joe is a political satire theatre performance, written and directed by Wenfei Jia, about exploring the nature of free will and the consequences of attempting to control it through behavior modification.

    Through a darkly cinematic lens, the audience will experience Joseph’s successful integration back into society. Or so it seems.
